Shelley Johnson

A Proven Local Leader for Somerset, Wicomico & Worcester Counties

Shelley Johnson is running for the Maryland House of Delegates because the Eastern Shore deserves a representative who understands our land, our waterways, and the daily lives of our families. As President of the Town of Princess Anne, she fights for healthier housing, stronger schools, safer communities, and respect for the people who built this region — our farmers, watermen, and elders.

Shelley leads with compassion, fairness, and action. She shows up. She listens. She fights for the people.

Now, she’s ready to take that leadership to Annapolis!

“Our people matter. Our land matters. Our future matters. I’m running because leaders should protect them all.”

Why Shelley?

Because she’s already doing the work.

Because she leads with heart.

Because she understands the unique needs of Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties.

Because the Eastern Shore deserves a Delegate who fights for all of us.

Shelley Johnson

Leading with Heart, Serving with Purpose

Supporting Our Farmers

Agriculture is the backbone of District 38A. Shelley will:

  • Secure fair state funding for local farmers
  • Improve drainage, irrigation, and storm-protection systems
  • Expand training and workforce programs for agriculture
  • Protect farmland and promote local markets

Standing With Our Watermen

Our heritage is rooted in the water. Shelley will:

  • Support the blue crab, oyster, and fisheries industries
  • Advocate for fair, practical regulations
  • Protect working waterfronts from decline
  • Invest in the next generation entering maritime trades

Protecting Wetlands & Our Environment

Healthy wetlands protect our homes and communities. Shelley will:

  • Push for stormwater upgrades and flood-mitigation funding
  • Preserve wetlands and coastal ecosystems
  • Bring attention to areas repeatedly overlooked during storms
  • Balance environmental protection with economic realities

Healthy & Safe Housing

Shelley has already led efforts to improve local housing conditions. In Annapolis, she will:

  • Fight for funding to address mold, bacteria, and unsafe living conditions
  • Strengthen support for both tenants and responsible landlords
  • Increase state oversight and accountability for delayed permits
  • Repurpose vacant or neglected properties into safe homes

Stronger Schools & Opportunities for Youth

Our children deserve the best. Shelley will:

  • Advocate for equitable school funding across Eastern Shore counties
  • Expand after-school programs, community centers, and youth jobs
  • Support teachers, staff, and mental health resources
  • Strengthen partnerships between schools, nonprofits, and families

Protecting Our Seniors

Shelley is committed to honoring and protecting elders in the community. She will:

  • Fight for better senior housing and aging-in-place support
  • Improve access to healthcare and transportation
  • Support caregivers and community programs for older adults
  • Ensure safe, respectful living conditions for every elder
